C/7 “ Enjoy Life! Wines, Cuisine, Art and the Beauty of the Tuscan CountrySide ”

This is a proposal for small groups of friends, 1 to 16 people willing to enjoy life! With love for cooking and wines, for art & nature, willing to taste local specialties & genuine food, with the curiosity of discovering where they come from, a fantastic excuse to explore the magnificent Tuscan countryside!

The villa has a garden with a pool and is surrounded by a park, has a well recognized Restaurant specializing in ancient and classic recipes of Florentine cuisine. Oil, Wine, Vegetables, Salads and Herbs from own property. In the summer you can have a snack by the pool and dinner by candlelight in the park! -It’s located 5 miles/8Km. from the centre of Florence, but seems miles away from the congestion of the city - In 1 hour by car, you can reach the sea, the mountains and small cities, full of art, like: Pistoia, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo, San Gimignano, Siena, The Chianti area.

We propose the following excursions, so that you can choose which one you will consider more interesting – On your request, we can make reservations for you when needed and give you information about how to reach the different places - You can do these excursions by yourselves, with your car, or reserve a guide if you consider it useful or a driver-guide, when you want to relax totally!  

A) Fiesole, Florence and a Special Event: first to Fiesole (image on the left), an Etruscan city, later dominated by Rome, although the Romans then preferred to install themselves below where they built the city of Florence. Fiesole will include a visit to see the archaeological area: the Roman amphitheatre is still in function, the Thermae and the archaeological Museum, with finds from 300 BC on. It is possible to have a light lunch in the main square, before going to Florence, through enchanting panoramic streets, to see the church of San Miniato (image on the center), which dominates the city. Then: the Uffizi Gallery, most famous collection of primitives and Renaissance paintings in the world (image on the right), and much more. If booked in time: a Special Event at the Academy of the Art of Perfumes, in a private Florentine palace to be seduced by the power of perfume and discover certain scents. Presentation of the Art of Perfumery and a drink with a spectacular view of the city. Possibility of shopping in the palace. Reservation needed.

B) To Impruneta, the Chianti area and Siena:
Visit to
Impruneta for a special visit “ The terracotta tradition from Brunelleschi to the present day (image on the left) - Travel through the magnificent Chianti area (second image on the left) for a Special Event: you will visit the rare oil and wine cellars of a private farm and villa and have a tasting of local cheeses and Tuscan specialties in the farm, tasting their olive oil and wines. Through the vineyards, to Siena, to see the superb square of the “Il Palio” (first image on the right) with the fountain by Jacopo della Quercia , the Cathedral and at the Opera del Duono to see the Maestà of Duccio.

C) A full day in Florence: the gorgeous marble facade of the church of S.Maria Novella (image on the right), started in 1278 by the Dominican order, and  in 1300, on design of L. Alberti. Inside the Chapels of the great families, the Strozzi chapel with frescoes by Filippino Lippi (image on the left), the frescoes by Ghirlandaio, the Gondi chapel with the famous wooden Christ by Brunelleschi and other masterpieces such as the Christ on wood by Giotto in the sacristy and Masaccio’s fresco of the Trinity. The beautiful gothic cloister with frescoes by Paolo Uccello and the big Chapel of the spaniels, frescoed around 1300 with a beautiful painting on the hotel by B.Daddi. Then to the cloister of Ognissanti to see Ghirladaio’s last supper - we cross the river to see Masaccio's frescoes at the Cappella Brancacci and the basilica of Santo Spirito, the last work by Brunelleschi, with masterpieces by Filippino Lippi, Buontalenti, and more. A walking tour to see the antique dealers streets Light lunch in town – Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens.

MontalcinoD) 1 full day to Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano: first to Pienza the ideal city of the Renaissance wanted by the Pope Pius II Piccolomini and built by Bernardo Rossellino, to see the Cathedral and Palazzo Picolomini (image on the right). Then to Montalcino and Montepulciano (image on the left), the country and the wines. Light lunch with local specialties, to taste the famous Brunello of Montalcino and the “Vernaccia” of San Giminiano, in magnificent countryside.

E) 1 Full day to Lucca, the Mediterranean sea and Pisa: to see the city of Lucca (image on the left), of Roman origin, with beautiful cathedrals, palaces and the famous walls, later Elisa Bonaparte the sister of Napoleon was the princess of Lucca. It is possible to see the home-studio of Giacomo Puccini, where many of his operas were composed. A swim and light lunch at the Mediterranean Sea. Then on to Pisa: Miracle square (image on the right), a declared wealth for humanity– the marble Romanic cathedral built between 1063 and 1118, the pulpit of G. Pisano and the leaning tower.

F) Very near the Villa for A Special Event: Cooking! The morning: in the family kitchen of a XVI century villa at a five-minute walk from Villa Villoresi, where the owner will give you a cooking lesson. You will start by picking vegetables and aromatic plants from her vegetable garden, she will give you some information about Florentine cooking and table decoration, then you will prepare a full lunch together and eat with her and her family what you have cooked!! In the afternoon a visit to the Richard Ginori Museum, to see an outstanding collection of porcelain (image on the left). Possibility of buying Museum reproductions in the nearby Outlet of the factory 

You will be staying at the Hotel Villa Villoresi:  It’s a special place! Where you will feel at home, enjoying the elegant, relaxing atmosphere of a noble Tuscan country villa!
