G/7 “Soul’s Itineraries in Florence and Tuscany “
Enjoy and Reawaken your Spirit through Art, Beauty of Nature, Music and Perfumes

This is a proposal for those people, from 1 to 16, wishing to spend a few days in beautiful green surroundings,   to enjoy and reawaken their spirit through nature, art, architecture, the places of harmony and music in Florence and Tuscany. If you wish, a driver-guide will make your traveling easy and exciting. A unique, exclusive, fascinating opportunity to enjoy Florence, the Casentino, the Val D’Orcia and the splendour of the Tuscan countryside!

The villa has a designed garden, full of lemon trees, roses and wild orange-trees and is surrounded by a park. In the sixties, when the villa was turned onto a Hotel, a very pleasant swimming pool was added in the garden. It is located 5 miles/8Km. from the centre of Florence, but seems miles away from the congestion of the city - In 1 hour by car, you can reach: the sea, the mountains and small cities full of art, like: Pistoia, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo, San Gimignano, Siena, The Chianti area.

We indicate different Religious spaces in Florence, as sometimes they are part of our proposal for their beauty, art and for the splendid sites. The religious part is left to individual choice and time.

We propose the following excursions, so that you can choose which one you will consider more interesting – On your request, we can make reservations for you where its needed and give you information about how to reach the different places - You can do these excursions by yourselves, with your car, or reserve a guide if you consider it useful or a driver-guide, when you want to relax totally!

A) 1 full day dedicated to Florence, Fiesole and Music -

The convent of S. Marco to see Beato Angelico. Then to Fiesole: Fiesole an Etruscan city, later dominated by Rome, when the Romans built the city of Florence below. The Cathedral, the Roman Amphitheatre which is still functioning, the Thermae, the Cathedral , and the Archaeological Museum with pieces dating from the 3rd century B.C. Through gorgeous panoramic streets, to reach the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte, with an incredible view on the city, then back to downtown Florence for a light lunch before going to the Uffizi Gallery, a world famous collection of paintings. If booked in time, a Special Event will be possible: at The Academy Bartolomeo Cristofori to see the  “fortepiano” the first pianoforte built in Florence in 1700 and to hear its special sound that delighted Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven, just to name some of the most famous composers of the XVIII century.

B) 1 Full day excursion in Casentino: to Camaldoli, Poppi and La Verna: Poppi at 450 mt. height, in the middle of the forest of Casentino, dominating the beautiful valley of the Arno river, now aNational Park, to discover the castle of Count Guidi, built by the famous architect Di Cambio and prototype of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, to see its library “ Rilliana” and the Chapel with a cycle of frescoes by Taddeo Gaddi, Giotto’s pupil. Then to Camaldoli at 1111 mt. to see the pharmacy of the Monastery and the Hermitage where the strict rule is silence. Light lunch before moving to the Sanctuary of “La Verna” where S.Francis received the stigma, it is located in the National Park of the Casentino forests. The beautiful simplicity of this place, its history, spirituality, art and location in the middle of an enchanting nature, make La Verna a really unique place.

C) 1 full day between Galluzzo, Florence and a special Event: a visit to the “Certosa” of Galluzzo, then to Florence to see the Academy with the David and other masterpieces by Michelangelo, from here to the Church of Santa Croce, a Franciscan basilica, which is the church of the great Florentines, a symbol of Florence, full of great art. Light lunch in town. Then we cross the river to go to Pitti Palace to visit the Galleria Palatine and for a walk at Boboli gardens, to see Buontalenti's grotto, the Venus by Giambologna, a copy of the prisoners of Michelangelo, now at the Academy, but originally done to be located here. If booked in time, a Special Event: at the Academy of the Art of Perfumes, in a private Florentine palace to be seduced by the power of perfume and discover certain scents. Presentation of the Art of Perfumery and a drink with a spectacular view of the city. Possibility of shopping in the palace

D) 1 full day excursion to Lucca, to the sea and Pisa: to see the city of Lucca, of Roman origin, with beautiful cathedrals, palaces and the famous walls, later Elisa Bonaparte the sister of Napoleon was the princess of Lucca and left important traces of her presence. It is possible to see the home-studio of Giacomo Puccini, where many of his operas were composed.  A light lunch and departure for Pisa: to see the leaning tower and the Miracle square, a declared heritage for humanity, the marbles of the Romanic cathedral, built between 1063 and 1118, the pulpit of G.Pisano and the leaning tower. If there is enough time a swim in the Mediterranean Sea!

E) 1 full day Excursion to Monteriggioni, a medieval castle-village on the top of a hill, then to San Gimignano to see the Pinacotheque full of masterpieces by Pinturicchio, Benozzo Gozzoli and Filippino Lippi. Light lunch in town to taste the famous wine “ The Vernaccia”. Then to Siena to see the superb square of the “Il Palio” with the fountain by J.della Quercia, the Cathedral and the Opera del Duomo to see the Maestà of Duccio. Then to San Galgano, an incredible Cistercian Abbey in the middle of gorgeous countryside. 

F) The full day near the villa and 2 special events Cooking and Music: Morning, Cooking together: in the family kitchen of a XVI century villa at a five minute walk from Villa Villoresi, where the owner will give you a cooking lesson. You will start by picking  vegetables and aromatic plants from her vegetable garden, she will give you some information about Florentine cooking and table decoration, then you will prepare a full lunch at your choice together and eat with her and her family what you have cooked!! After, if you wish, you could have a look at the Museum Richard Ginori in Sesto, to see an outstanding collection of porcelain. There is the possibility of buying Museum reproductions in theer outlet. In the evening: Live Concert for lute:” The music of Leonardo and Michelangelo’s times and its Relation with the social life in the Renaissance.

You will be staying at the Hotel Villa Villoresi:  It’s a special place ! Where you will feel at home, enjoying the elegant, relaxing atmosphere of the  noble Tuscan country villas!
