I/7 For those looking for "A taste of Italy, in Florence and Tuscany”

This is a unique proposal for small groups of friends, from 3 to 12/16 with a common love for many aspects of life! Wishing to enjoy: Art and Nature, Villas and Gardens, Wines and Cooking, Traditions in: Terracotta, Fashion, Jewellery and Perfumes! With privileged access to private palaces and villas, to artist studios and secret gardens in Florence and in the enchanting Tuscan countryside!

The villa has a formal garden, full of lemon trees, roses and wild orange-trees, where a very pleasant swimming pool was added in the sixties and is surrounded by a park- It is a National Monument with the longest loggia in Tuscany and is located 5 miles/8Km from the centre of Florence. In one hour by car, you can reach:  the sea, the mountains and small cities full of art, like: Pistoia, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo, San Gimignano, Siena and the Chianti area.

We propose the following excursions, so that you can choose which is more interesting – On  request, we can make reservations for you where needed and give you information about how to reach the different places - You can do these excursions by yourselves, with your car, or reserve a guide if you consider it useful or a driver-guide, when you want to relax totally!  

A) 1 full day excursion to Quinto, Florence and Fiesole.  Starting from the nearby Medici Villa “ La Petraia” (image on the left) to see the King’s apartments and one of the first designed gardens of the Renaissance.  Then to Fiesole: an Etruscan city, later dominated by the Romans, they built below the city of Florence, to see the Cathedral, the Roman Amphitheatre, still functioning, the Thermae, and the Archaeological Museum with finds from the III century B.C. on. A light lunch in the area before going to San Miniato and downtown to see the Uffizi Gallery, the most important collection of Primitives and Renaissance paintings and much more (image on the right). If booked in time, a Special Event: at the Academy of Perfumes, in a private Florentine palace to be seduced by the power of perfume and discover certain scents. Presentation of the Art of Perfumery and a drink with a spectacular view of the city. Possibility of shopping in the Palace

B) 1 full day to Impruneta, the Chianti area and Siena: a special visit at Impruneta: “ the terracotta tradition from Brunelleschi’s dome to the present day (image on the left), the vases you will find in many gardens in Tuscany” Travel through the gorgeous Chianti area, for a Special Event: visit the rare oil and wine cellars of a private farm and villa. A light lunch in the farm with local cheeses and specialties, tasting their olive oil and wines. To Siena to see the superb square of the “Il Palio” (image on the right) with the fountain by J.della Quercia, the Cathedral and the Opera del Duomo to see the Maestà of Duccio da Boninsegna.

C) A full day in Florence to see Beato Angelico at San Marco and Michelangelo’s David (image on the left) with other masterpieces at the Academy- Then more Michelangelo at the Medici Chapels. After a short visit to Palazzo Medici Riccardi, the family home of Lorenzo the Magnificent, to see a small chapel painted by B. Gozzoli, one of the Kings  is Lorenzo. A walking tour in the centre to see the Cathedral, the Baptistery with its golden doors and Giotto’s bell tower. Light lunch in town. A Special Event: In a gorgeous Villa with a garden and a fantastic view on city to see a painting collection of Pietro Annigoni and the new Roberto Capucci High Fashion Foundation in Florence (image on the right), with some of his creations, many drawings and pictures, true enjoyment!

D) 1 full day excursion to Camigliano, Lucca and Pisa: A special visit to discover a gorgeous private villa and its designed   garden (image on the left). Then to see the city of Lucca, of roman origin, with beautiful cathedrals and palaces and the famous walls, later Elisa Bonaparte the sister of Napoleon was the princess of Lucca and left evident traces. Light lunch- Then, it is possible to go to Massaciuccoli for a visit to the home-studio of Giacomo Puccini, where many of his operas were composed and to Pisa (image on the right): to see the leaning tower and the Miracle square, a declared heritage for humanity, the marbles of the Romanic cathedral, built between 1063 and 1118, the pulpit of G.Pisano and the leaning tower. to see the leaning tower and the Miracle square.

E) Full day excursion, to explore the Mugello area, Scarperia ad Leccio: first to Scarperia (image on the right), a world famous place for the best cutting instruments. Then at McArthurGlen Barberino (image on the left), where you will find more than 25000 m2 of retail area, this new outlet has been designed according to characteristic Mugello and Tuscany architecture, and has more than 90 shops with the best brands of fashion products of all types, from the previous season at prices cut by 30 to 70%. Possibility of combining shopping and Golf, going to the nearby Golf Country Club Poggio dei Medici, an oasis of relaxation with extraordinary scenery.

F) 1 full day In Florence: Visit to the Stibbert Museum, an impressive collection of Renaissance and Oriental arms and armature given to Florence by an English Gentleman. Then Pitti Palace: Palatine Gallery, the Carriages and Boboli Gardens. Light Lunch. If booked in time, a Special Event: the director of the Silver Museum of Pitti Palace, will give you a guided visit, showing the ancient silversmiths, other collections and recent acquisitions of modern jewellery, speaking about “ Jewellery from M. Luisa de ’ Medici, to the great artists of today” .
